With my first novel coming out in September 2024, it feels like it’s time to share some of my writing journey with you all.
From how I got my agent, to my experience in writing competitions, to what it’s like when you first see your cover design, this is the place for an honest view of becoming an author and hopefully I can inspire you to get writing too!

I am an expert in at least two of the above but I’m not going to give away which two just yet.
My debut novel The Night Before Christmas comes out in September with the wonderful Bloodhound Books and I can hardly wait! From initially signing with them more than six months ago, it’s finally starting to feel real. This week I’ve been looking at cover designs (what a moment!) and next month I’ll get my copy edits back - the final stage before proofing! I should be able to reveal the cover soon but for now, I can say that it’s a semi-festive romantic comedy featuring a girl who hates Christmas, a whole host of rescued cats and a man dressed as a giant penguin. I am going to aim to post at least once a month. That seems like a good amount. But every so often there may be some exciting news that I just can’t hold on to because let’s be real here, I have zero patience. Zero. None. This trait is really not ideal in the publishing industry which can move slower than that poor snail in Monsters University. I suppose I should have learned a valuable lesson by now but no. Of course I haven’t.
